What is a Slab Leak?

Slab LeakA concrete slab is typically found in our homes to provide the basement foundation. Specific guidelines are followed, depending on the type of construction. It could have been poured on-site, or perhaps even precast and installed on site.

When your home was built, water and sewer pipes were first layed, then that concrete slab was installed to form a protective barrier. Depending on the age of your home, the quality of its construction, soil movement and other factors can affect those pipes, causing them to leak.

We know that no homeowner wants to hear the word “Leak” associated with their plumbing. And a Slab Leak is exactly what it sounds like. It is a leak below that slab of concrete.

A slab leak is nothing to fool around with. Over time it will only worsen, and as the pipes fail, the damage will increase and the mold will continue to grow. The sooner we are able to locate and diagnose the problem, the quicker we can get control of the situation and advise you on the best course of action.
